Last week I got to paddle the Little Assawoman Bay in Fenwick Island Delaware. (Love that name by the way! Is there a Big Assawoman Bay somewhere?)
We were staying in the community pictured in the background of the photo above. There was easy access to the water when the tide was high. At low tide I had to walk my board over a sand bar to paddle. I was able to get out every morning and paddle for an hour or so.
One of the best parts of the weekend was getting to paddle with my wife. We have three young kids, so getting out on the water together is something we haven’t done much in the past few years. We had a great time!
While I was there, I got to paddle with a family friend, who also happens to be an Olympic whitewater kayaker. I was hoping to get her on a paddle board to see how her skills translated. I figure lots of paddlers switch easily from one discipline to another, so I fully expected her to take to it right away. Sure enough, she rocked it.
